A Beautiful Day

Sitting down to dinner has many advantages to a family. Sometimes after preparing dinner I am just so tired that I don't even enjoy the meal let a lone the company. All I really want to do is sit down and relax. At our house we have a rule that there are to be no elbows on the table. This I believe is a pretty standard rule in most homes. We of course do not enforce this rule on pizza night. But I digress. Sometimes the conversation around the dinner table sounds something like this. "Did you have a good day? Yes, of course. I played with my friends blah blah blah...." However, on this night I asked my little girl how her day was and this is how she replied. "We caught a bird. (and with outstretched arms she shows me how big it was) It was this size and it flew around the room. Then I rode on its back and we flew up into the sky and looked down over all the buildings and the trees. Then it flew me up into the puffy white clouds. And there we landed and I stayed on the cloud all day. And then I came home." Well! Who could have a better day than that! I told her preschool teacher that I wanted to come to her class! Now that is a beautiful day!
