In the News and Grandma

Another day of endless research, computing and trying to still love on and give attention to my pre-schooler! Seriously, I need a mothers-day-out or something so I can accomplish things and not feel guilty about my sweet little one playing alone or worse yet.... watching tv!!!! aaaaaagh I said it! It's out! Yes, on occassion I use the TV as childcare. Although, I am selective in my programming.
Yesterday an article was published in the paper on the organization that I am leading. It is exciting.
So Saturday, when I thought the article was to be published, I went to the newstand. Inserted my hard-to-find-covered-in-old-Dr.Pepper-juice quarter. Only to find that I had just purchased 4 day old news! So in an attempt to reclaim my much saught after quarter... when I purchased the new edition I simply took two. No doubt some possible ethical issues there. None-the-less, it was a nice article. Clearly the author was not a Christian and therefore seemingly had difficulty in writing the words Jesus Christ. She did scribe Christ once though. Which I thought was important since the article was about a Christian organization!
Must be off now since I should be taking this after bed time (the kids not me) to prepare for a board meeting tomorrow!
FYI We should all talk to our grandmothers more often! I conversed with mine tonight for about 45 minutes and caught up on the entire family. And sincerely enjoyed every minute of it! I love my Grandmother! I am very thankful to still have her in my life!
PS That beer I drank yesterday gave me a mighty migraine today. Did I mention I am intollerant to alchohol?

What A Day!

Ya know it's a bad day when your sister needs bail money to get out of jail!!! Yes. That's right. Today my sister spent her day behind bars. I thought I was having a really bad day because of some finance issues. You see... I lead a ministry/scout troop at my church. And since we are a new organization (not Boy or Girl Scouts), we need to set up a checking account for operating expenses. Holy cow! What a nightmare and a headache that has turned out to be! Of course, nothing concerning money is ever easy except usually blowing it. But leave it to my church administrator to make that difficult. I mean ftl it's not even the churches money. They didn't collect it or do the fundraising. And actually said they were not willing to handle any fundraising money and that we should just collect cash and operate from that! Ok what genius wants to explain to the parents that I want their cash and I promise I won't go shopping for new shoes with it! Seriously, my new to the area scouting organization has made it easy to enact some checks and balances and the guy at the church tells me to operate on a cash bases!! Are you kidding me? Who in the world? Whatta? This has got to be the craziest thing I ever heard!
Ok So I am a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. This blog however is not for my spiritual pontifications. Although, at one point I thought it might be. But since I created this blog I have not had enough energy to pontificate, if you will, on matters spiritual. Now now there are several reasons for this and bla bla bla I could list them now since I know whoever is actually reading this wants to know. But really then I would be doing the very thing I just said I don't have enough energy to do! I'll give you this. If I start talking about the spiritual and biblical matters that guide my life then I will feel pressure, and rightly so, to research everything I claim so as to make sure that it is theologically and biblically correct. This would include quoting scripture and looking up doctrines etc etc etc. So that is just not going to happen. So for now lets just keep this simple. I'll rant about what er ailes me and do my best to keep it real without loosing my religion.
So all that aside... here I am all consumed with the difficulties in setting up a checking account and my little sister sits in jail for a ticket for which she failed to pay! Hey, how bout that for perspective! Of course, I didn't find out about my sister until 5pm at which point I had already decided it was a crappy day and was determined to drink a beer to soothe my nerves. (not something I usually do, but we had some in the fridge) Apparently, my T-mobile service was not cutting it today and nobody could reach me. So when my husband got home he told me that my somewhat "crazy" or as she likes to call herself "mean" Aunt had called him about my sister... I immediately grabbed a cold one! I must say, it was quite refreshing. My sister is now "out on bail"! Ha there's something for the annual whitetrash party. Wife and Mother of three had to call Mom to round up 1000 to post bail. Can hardly wait to write the christmas letter this year.
Well that's all for now. Thank you to blogger for this cathartic experience. Now I have to check my voicemails!
